Cheshire

For the visitor, Cheshire has a rich history as well as many attractions.  The numerous pretty black and white manor houses illustrate the county’s historical prosperity.

The beautiful landscape is generally low, flat, and fertile and Cheshire is important both agriculturally and industrially.  It is difficult to travel far without crossing a canal where walks can be taken along the tow path and you can experience the tranquility of the countryside as well as seeing some of Britain’s industrial heritage.

At its heart, the city of Chester is one of England’s most beautiful historic cities and is situated on the border of England and Wales. Its origins can be traced back to Roman times and after the Romans departed, Chester developed into a busy port trading with Ireland.

Not only is Chester a great city offering a lot to explore in the surrounding area, it is also well situated for travel to the coast and the Welsh mountains. The cities of Liverpool and Manchester are also easily reached.

Cheshire has good travel links via air and rail and is well positioned to visit landmarks in Britain.
